Endeavor Air

Endeavor began life as a Northwest Airlines subsidiary and was spun off as Pinnacle Airlines in 2002. Pinnacle bought Mesaba from Delta in 2010 and filed for Chapter 11 in April 2012. It left bankruptcy in May 2013 as a wholly owned Delta subsidiary and took the Endeavor name in August 2013. It now flies as Delta Connection.

How it changed

Endeavor Air carried 14.9 million passengers in 2025. Its busiest year was 2019, at 15.1 million.

Its average flight had 47 seats in 2002 and 74 in 2025, a sign of larger aircraft replacing smaller ones. The average passenger flew 372 miles per segment in 2002 and 449 in 2025, and 80% of its seat-miles were filled in 2025.

Who it flew for

Endeavor Air flew for more than one airline, and sometimes several at once. Our estimate of the split between them, which is based on the airports it serves, is too rough to publish for a regional like this. The summary at the top names its partners from public record.

The fleet

Endeavor Air operated 143 passenger aircraft of its own in 2025. The average age was 15.4 years: 0% of the aircraft were under five years old and 13% were twenty or older. The oldest was a Bombardier CRJ-700 built in 2002.

In 2006 the average age was 3.2 years across 124 aircraft. It's older now by 12.2 years, and the fleet is bigger.

Fuel

In 2025 Endeavor Air burned 205 million gallons of jet fuel, which is 41.0 seat-miles per gallon and about 0.299 kg of CO2 per passenger-mile. Over 500 miles that's roughly 149 kg per passenger. Small regional aircraft burn more fuel per seat than the mainline jets, and a short hop spends a larger share of its fuel on take-off and climb, so these figures aren't graded against the airlines on the main list. Their flying and fuel are counted in the airlines whose names are on the tickets.

For some years Endeavor Air didn't file usable fuel figures with BTS. In 7 of them we priced its own flight hours at the fuel burn per hour that other airlines reported for the same aircraft types that year. They're marked with an asterisk in the table below. See the methodology.
